Senate panel to consider three more cabinet nominations Monday

njseal051309_optThe state Senate Judiciary Committee Monday will consider Gov. Chris Christie's cabinet nominees' Janet F. Rosenzweig, of Yardley, Pa., to serve as Children and Families commissioner; Gary M. Lanigan, of Staten Island, to serve as Corrections commissioner, and Jennifer Velez, of Summit, to continue as Human Services commissioner.

To date, the committee has approved seven of the governor's nominations: Paula Dow as attorney general; Major General Glenn Rieth as the adjutant general of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs; Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff as treasurer; Robert M. Czech as Civil Service chief, Lee A. Solomon as Board of Public Utilities president, Bret Schundler as Education commissioner, and James S. Simpson as Transportation commissioner.

Schundler's and Simpson's nominations must still be approved by the full Senate.
