Sinatra gets own dorm at Montclair State University

franksinatra_optA new residence hall at Montclair State University has been officially named "Sinatra Hall" after 2,379 MSU students voted last week.

Frank Sinatra was the overwhelming winner with 506 votes, followed by Walt Whitman with 125 votes and Albert Einstein in third with 119 votes.

Sinatra Hall makes 10 on-campus choices for Montclair State students to live, including the Village Apartments, which had a similar naming process.

Other nominees included Aaron Burr, Thomas Edison, Doris Duke and Milton Freedman. Students also wrote-in their suggestions, according to the Montclarion.

The hall is set to house upperclassmen, according to the university's Web site. The dorm will contain six floors and 303 beds in an apartment style suite, according to the Montclarion.
