Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino announced Thursday that Tysheed R. White, 18, of East Orange has been charged with aggravated manslaughter in connection with the death of James Gadie, 22, of Newark.
Both men were inmates at the Essex County Correctional Facility. The preliminary investigation indicates the cellmates got into a fight Wednesday evening. Corrections officers found Gadie unresponsive. He was pronounced dead in the jail infirmary at approximately 6:43 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17. 2010.
Thursday, White was charged with aggravated manslaughter. Judge Peter Vazquez set bail at $200,000.
