Did Gov. Christie make a reference to oral sex as he responded to hecklers in the crowd at a rally for Republican presidential nominee frontrunner in Exeter, N.H. Sunday night?
For anybody who ever got caught in the middle of a bunch of Jersey guys trading off-color exchanges outside the neighborhood convenience store, it sure sounds that way.
The whole episode took 42 seconds.
With Romney at his side on a stage in a high school auditorium, an AOL Patch video catches Christie as he praises the candidate when one or more women in the crowd begin chanting, “Christie kills jobs. Christie kills jobs,” and something to do with jobs going down.
It takes a moment for Christie to realize he is being heckled but he then responds, “Really?” and most of the crowd laughs. He then says, “You know, something may be going down tonight, but it ain’t going to be jobs, sweetheart.” The crowd then groans.
As Christie completes his comeback line, Romney is seen to smile.
The governor continues, “It’s that confusion out there. If she were in New Jersey, she would know we created 60,000 jobs while (former Democratic governor) Jon Corzine killed 120,000. If she were not so blinded by Barack Obama induced anger, she would know jobs will be coming back when Mitt Romney is president of the United States.”
Christie has been criticized in the past for his comments toward women, including telling reporters last year that they should “take a bat” to Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen) in response to her criticism of him.
In the wake of his efforts to help New Jersey recover from Tropical Storm Irene and flooding, his standing with New Jersey women voters has improved.
Christie also has campaigned for Romney in Iowa and plans to appear in other states on his behalf during the presidential primary season. The New Hampshire primary is Tuesday.
The governor's office did not immediately respond Monday afternoon to a request for comment.

What he said was absolutely unacceptable and offensive and I am not some "thin skinned republican hater" blah blah. He made a terrible choice to respond the way he did and he should be ashamed of himself. He isn't a stand up comedian, he is the Governor of the State of New Jersey and as such represents the electorate. I was DISGUSTED and profoundly offended by his choice of words . It made is abundantly clear that this man can never represent on a larger scale.
I absolutely thought differently of him after this. I am so embarrassed to have him as our governor.
But I totally expected the jaded, anti-Republican New Jersey news media to twist and contort that statement. You guys are so pathetically predictable.
