Not since Rosie the Riveter showed her muscle has the female bicep been so controversial.

First Lady Michelle Obama, in her official portrait, chose to bare arms in a sleeveless Michael Kors dress that shows off her well-toned limbs. But while some praise Obama for being a role model in an obese world, others say she’s gone overboard, Jeannine Stein writes in the Los Angeles Times.
