Here's a way to seemingly travel back in time to get up close and personal with black history.
The Old Barracks Museum in Trenton on Saturday and Sunday will present, "America ... We Served! Three Centuries of African American Soldiers!''
Visitors will see history brought to life by black veterans and reenactors, talk with them and view photographs and artifacts.
The event will feature the 1st Rhode Island Regiment-Revolutionary War Reenactors, the Web Foot Flotilla-War of 1812 Reenactors, the 6th Regiment U.S. Colored Troops-Civil War Reenactors, and the 5th Platoon-World War II Reenactors.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Old Barracks at 101 Barrack St. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for children, $8 special family rate, and children under 6 enter free. There is free parking in the adjacent Statehouse lot.
