There is nothing that conjures up visions of a festive fiesta party more than Cinco de Mayo, May 5. And what better way to celebrate than at Chef Jose Garces’ new Distrito Cantina Margarita Bar and his adjacent Guapos Tacos (a customized, stationary “food truck” that is styled after his wildly popular Philadelphia-based truck) at Revel, the newest resort destination on Atlantic City’s Boardwalk. Guests will enjoy special pricing on signature chips and dips, as well as affordable drink specials from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. at what is sure to be Atlantic City’s liveliest Cinco de Mayo party.
According to Chef Garces, there is nothing he loves more than an excuse to throw a great party and with his beautiful new restaurants at Revel, he can’t wait to have guests enjoy Cinco de Mayo with Mexican street food and, of course, plenty of Margaritas.
Cinco de Mayo Specials will include: $2 Tecate cans and $5 Signature Margaritas, as well as $5 Chips with Guacamole and $3 Chips with Salsa Mexicana. Guests can order their snacks and drinks directly at the walk-up margarita bar and enjoy them as they stroll the casino floor, or sit down in some of the lounge seating and take a break between games. The entire menu will be available in addition to the Cinco de Mayo specials, including: Goat Tacos; Pozole with little neck clams, hominy, chorizo and salsa verde, and Churros with spicy Valrhona chocolate sauce.
With more than 100 varieties of tequila and virtually endless custom margaritas, Distrito Cantina offers an exciting array of signature drinks including: seasonal Frozen Margaritas, Prickly Pear Margarita, Michelada, Modelo Especial with lime, spices and salt and Hemingway, a chile-infused tequila with maraschino liqueur and grapefruit. Jefe (Chef) Garces’ signature Margarita is El Jefe Margarita with Fresh Pineapple (see the recipe below) made with Don Julio reposado, Combier Orange Liqueur and lime.
