What’s better on a hot summer day than an icy, cold beer and hanging with your favorite canine friend? Nothing— maybe if you could share your brew with your best friend.
Thanks to a Seattle-based company, dog-lovers can do just that. Bowser Beer, a non-alcoholic brew, is made exclusively for dogs. Its non-carbonated mix of meat broth and malt barley, with glucosamine added for joint health, was created by Jenny Brown.
Brown said the idea came to her after a holiday farmer’s market in 2007, where she made and sold spicy pretzels. Customers urged her to create a peanut-butter alternative for their dogs, which she did and then asked herself, “What goes better with pretzels than beer?”
Four beer recipes later, the clear winner was declared by her own three canine friends’ taste buds: Bowser Beer was a reality.
