NOW THAT’S FUNNY
Actually, he didn’t exactly give her a ticket. He gave another officer the order to do so.
Police Chief Vincent Caruso of Lodi ordered another officer to ticket his wife when she was caught double parked in front of a school, dropping off their kids. It’s not the first time he’s done that, either. Two years ago she was parked in the wrong place during a street cleaning, and he ordered her to receive a ticket, then, too.
“She’s not above the law,” said Chief Caruso, adding that he did not want her to get any special treatment.
Okay, we all admire this guy. We sincerely wish there were more people in public office like him. However, I don’t think I would have wanted to be at their house when he got home that night.
Chief: "Honey I’m home!"Wife: "Oh, were you able to find a parking place?"
Chief: :Uh, yeah, in our driveway …"
Wife: "How nice for you!"
Chief: "What’s for dinner?"
Wife: "Stuffed park chops."
Chief: "That sounds good."
Wife: "We all ate an hour ago, so I let yours get cold. I wouldn’t want you to get any special treatment!"
Chief: "Honey, please, it’s just business."
Wife: "I can’t hear you … the dog is parking too loudly!"
It might have been tough, but Vincent Caruso did the right thing. Unlike Nancy Pelosi, and Newt Gingrich, and legions of others both great and small, this guy thinks his spouse does not deserve a special benefit just because of his job.
