If you look at Harlem Children's Zone's website, one of the points they talk about as part of their success formula is that they run Afterschool programs. Nothing against Harlem Children's Zone, I happen to think Afterschool programs are vital to improving educational outcomes!! But I simply find it amazing that the administration is pushing a program which includes Afterschool as a key part of their programming - if the Governor likes the Harlem Children's Zone model and recognizes their success, I just cannot fathom why NJ After 3 funding was cut to zero, especially with NJA3's well documented success.
