Although she is correct about separation of church and state, Governor Whitman is missing the essential point. Yes, leave the RELIGIOUS definitions of marriage at the church/synagogue door. So why are the same religious folks who do not want to be told how their religion should define marriage, trying to undermine CIVIL MARRIAGE EQUALITY?? Why do they feel so threatened by this? By the way, I am a Christian and I'm not gay. In my opinion, a true Christian does not judge others.
