Thanks for the relevant article on a topic that is constantly on my mind. I think the constant barrage of bad news in the media and our accessibility to it have made us much more cautious as parents, to the point of it being smothering. I am as much a news junkie as the next person, but it has definitely affected my ability to feel confident allowing my son to ride his bike around the block. Definitely a balancing act for parents.
