Municipal Consolidation

So property tax issues are caused by administrative overhead and "home rule"; since when do larger government bodies become more efficient and transparent than smaller ones. I'd like to see proof, the false assumption and choice you present is that small municipal governing bodies are always inefficient and that large municipal governing bodies are always efficient. If that's the case what not just have one governing body in each county. This concept is bad; and now it wastes resources to prove the point in either direction. My concern is that people feel this is the real cause of property taxes being to high in NJ. I got news for you it isn't. The lack of a reasonable funding formula in NJ for education is the problem. Get rid of the ELC and give an equal amount of aid per child in NJ. Eliminate Equalized Valuation as a method for funding regional districts and county wide funding obligations.
