The administration is making the public employees appear as if they are getting absurd pensions from the state after putting in their mandatory time to collect. The pensions these employees are not unreasonable and the real truth regarding the current pension funding goes all the way back to the Whitman administration. That idiot is the first one to have so called "holidays" for the municipalites, in which they had the option to take a "holiday" from funding their required share of the pension fund. The employees, however, continued to have their mandatory deductions taken from each and every paycheck, with the members of the Police and Fire System paying the highest amount. This failure of the municipalites to pay their fare share coupled with the blatant theft from the pension funds carried out by raiding administrations is what has gottent the pension system to where it is today. The bills passed today are nothing but knee jerk with the emphasis on making it look to the public as if the politicians are actually doing something to correct a problem that they, in fact, have created at the expense of the men and women who serve the pubic each and everyday, I don't recall seeing any mention of the pensions that the judiciary receive for life, if I am not mistaken they receive 100 % of their salary as a pension. I would just hope that someone stands up to the nonsense that King Christie is shoving down our throats or is he going to simply be able to bully everyone.
