The article is absurd. The best scientific estimates of ocean rise by mid century is 3 inches. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Current_sea_level_rise

Is the mid century time frame significant to your life expectancy?

The estimates in Wiki are 14 studies through to 2100 and all stating roughly the same thing. Sea level has risen about 2 inches since 1993 and the projections are from 7 to 21 inches by century end. We're running a little hot so we may be at the upper reaches (or over) of the projections.

The span between The PTTM (The Great Dying) and the mile high glaciers during the last Ice Age was only a 6-7 degrees C swing from today's climate. Nature finds a way to fix imbalances.
