I applaud Sen. Sweeney's move to reform pension and benefits within unions, but I would strongly disagree of his continued involvement. It is unclear as to why someone who is in control or has the ability to create legislation in this State regarding unions can sit as a union leader. This is clearly direct conflict of interest and I would be suspect of any backdoor agreements written within the legislation. This would be unacceptable in all forms of business. How does the media industry continue to function and not question something as simple as this?
