Do you understand that sports betting is banned at the federal level? So even if NJ politicians wanted to approve it (and they do), they could not. You are correct that the collegiate and sports leagues lobby mightily against it, so the chance of it ever passing Congress is slim and none. So it makes no sense to even rail on about the lack of sports betting outside of Nevada because it is just not going to happen in our lifetime.
