Thanks for covering this, as a railfan and New Yorker who often rides NJT through this area, I've always been fascinated by what little I had heard about Manhattan Transfer station. Had a look online, and there is a little bit here or there, but this is actually the best one article about it I've been able to find. Just a pity that all the photos just show the platforms as above and I can't find one with a steam train there or some people. Would love to know how many used it on a typical day.
