JhRMYour article did not mention the anguish experienced by the railroad employees and innocent by-standers who are witness to these suicides. Have you ever been to one of these platforms where tresspassers have gotten on the tracks? There are so many color coded "safety warnings" fences and chains that one has to really work to get down to the track...and did you know that the ADA platforms are almost four feet off the ground? The only suggestion that I could make is that perhaps NJ Transit and Amtrak should consider international symbols of no-tresspassing as New Jersey is a melting pot of cultural nationalities. There is no way to translate the warnings into all those languages. And maybe instead of eight-foot fences, they should install sixty-foot fences?
