The last time the Powerball Lottery jackpot was hit was on April 23, when the annuity prize was worth $148.8 million.Nearly a month later, the game’s grand prize has reached three figures in the million-dollar column once again.
After there was no jackpot winner in the drawing of May 14, Powerball’s web site reports that the estimated annuity jackpot for Saturday, May 17 will now be $100 million, and the cash option value checks in at $59.2 million. Jackpots for both Powerball and Mega Millions are now both at $100 million or higher as of Saturday’s Powerball drawing.
Saturday's had no winners for numbers 23, 32, 39, 47, 49 and PB 22. The jackpot inceases to $114 million for the next drawing.
Winning Powerball numbers for May 14 were 7, 33, 39, 52, and 55. The Powerball was 33. Unfortunately, USA Mega reported that no tickets were able to match the first five numbers without the Powerball, which would have won $1 million.Local players’ luck was better in other games. The New Jersey Lottery web site reported that a player from Hudson County won $73,183 in the Jersey Cash 5 drawing of Thursday, May 15. That ticket was sold in Jersey City at Karina’s Restaurant.
And a player from Camden County won the Jersey Cash 5 top prize on Wednesday, May 14. The ticket, worth $161,373, was bought at Eddie’s Liquor II in Camden.
Pick 6 Lotto is relatively overlooked with the larger jackpots in the other multi-state games, but the game just sold 1,007,242 tickets for its drawing on Thursday, May 15, according to the Lottery web site. No one hit the jackpot for that game, so the top prize will now be $16 million for the next Pick 6 Lotto drawing on Monday, May 19.
