Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of N.J. goes retail: Moorestown storefront will be state's first

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is about to join a growing list of health care companies offering consumers help and information through a retail center.

Their new retail store will open in the East Gate Square Shopping Center on Route 38 in Moorestown.

Robert A. Marino, Horizon’s chairman and CEO said that the store will enable customers to take on greater responsibility in choosing and paying for their health insurance. According to Citybizlist Philadelphia, the store will open during the summer.

Philly.com reports that Blue Cross companies in Florida, California, and South Carolina have outlets that are open, and Highmark has eight locations in Pennsylvania.

According to Market Watch, Joseph Albano, Vice President of Consumer and Senior markets for Horizon said, "This will be a way for us to provide personalized, one-on-one attention, while greatly enhancing the consumer’s experience with us.

The 4,500 square-foot center will be equipped with private meeting rooms, interactive work stations where customers can receive benefits and claim information, and a entertainment center for children. The facility is a few miles from Horizon’s headquarters in Mt. Laurel.

According to HorizonBlue.com, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is the state's oldest and largest health insurer, and has more than 3.6 million members Horizon has offices in Wall, Mt. Laurel, and West Trenton.
