It’s not too revealing. But it’s been revealed.
The cover of the January/February issue of Playboy featuring troubled star Lindsay Lohan leaked onto the Internet on Dec. 7, a week before fans were to get a sneak peak on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Posted by TheInsider.com, the cover shows a nude (except for high-heels) Lohan sitting backward on a red chair, with her private parts obstructed by a Playboy-bunny-shaped backrest.
Those wanting to see more of the “Mean Girls” star will have to wait until the magazine hits the newsstands in late December.
Playboy boss Hugh Hefner said in the New York Post that the retro-themed pictorial was “a classic tribute, inspired by the original Tom Kelley nude pictorial of Marilyn Monroe.”
Hefner added that it’s “classy, very classy. It turned out very well. I would say that I had some reservations early on, but after a couple of false steps, everybody came on board and it's going to be very exciting.”
Lohan first posed for the magazine in October, but did a reshoot in early November, according to WTOP.com, just prior to serving a five-hour jail sentence.
DeGeneres was supposed to provide the first glimpse of the shoot when Lohan guests on her Dec. 15 show. She was going to show the cover and non-nude inside shot.
No word on whether those plans will change with the unauthorized Internet leak.
“The pictorial is absolutely fantastic and very tasteful, and will be accompanied by an interview that will let readers see another side of Lindsay,” said her publicist Steve Honig in a recent statement, according to the New York Daily News.
The side fans have seen lately has been a troubled one. The actress has received five jail sentences since her two DUI arrests in 2007.
Hefner said he hopes her image benefits from the spread. "One hopes that this will be a change in direction for her,” Hef said.
The Post said the actress was paid $1 million for the shoot.
