The house used in “Jersey Shore" in Seaside Heights is rented out to the public during the year when the series is not being filmed.
Unfortunately, reports are saying the allure of the popular shrine that has been puked in so often has seen a number of its renters also marking their territory.
According to OnTheRedCarpet.com, recent photos have shown the walls of the Jersey Shore house and garage door covered in graffiti, with fans expressing their love for cast members. Seaside Realty real estate broker, Mike Loundy, said the exterior has already been repainted.
The house has six bedrooms and three bathrooms, and can be rented for $2,500 per night, or for a weekly rate of $14,000 from now until the middle of August. Loundy says the home is usually rented every weekend.
TMZ says that damage to the home occurs so often that the realtor has to repaint it every week. Loundy denied the report, saying the house has gone up to a month without needing any outside work.
The Asbury Park Press reports people have been taking shingles from the home as souvenirs. Seaside Heights Police Chief Thomas Boyd says the people removing shingles may represent only about 5 percent of the home’s visitors, and most people come by to take photos.
Boyd said police will continue to patrol and they will take names of people trying to steal shingles.
Loundy added that the home undergoes regular maintenance as needed.
