The star of a show about a fictitious high school actually attended high school in New Jersey.

Glee’s Lea Michele went to Tenafly, and was a member of the Class of 2004. It’s safe to say she’s come a long way since.

Along with everything else she has going, Michele is releasing her first book at the ripe old age of 27. And her book tour kicks off in Northvale.

According to Facebook, Michele will be signing copies of “Brunette Ambition” at Books & Greetings in Northvale on Tuesday May 20th at 7:00 p.m. People who plan to attend and buy a book at Books & Greetings will receive a numbered ticket to secure their spot in the signing line.

Michele describes her book as "the story of how I got to where I am today," according to Us Weekly. “My hope is that you take something from it that will inspire and motivate you, and also make you realize that anything you want to accomplish in your life is completely possible."

What you will be getting if you purchase her book is part memoir, part how-to book, and part style guide. Amazon.com calls Michele one of the hardest working performers in show business. Along with releasing her book, Michele stars as Rachel Berry on Glee, is the spokesperson for L’Oreal, and released a solo album titled “Louder” earlier this year.

Michele played volleyball, and was a champion debater during her time at Tenafly High. She performed in a school play, but only once. Michele said, according to American Way Magazine, “I wanted to give other kids the opportunity to act who didn’t otherwise get to perform.”

"Brunette Ambition" takes readers through Michele's journey from schoolgirl to Broadway child star to lead actress. After Michele visits the Books & Greetings at 271 Livingston Street in Northvale, on May 21 she will go to the Union Square Barnes & Noble on 33 East 17th Street in New York at 7:00 p.m. According to Playbill, Michele will also be performing on an 11-country world tour to support her album this summer.
