“Dancing With the Stars” contestant Katherine Jenkins felt more than “the burn” after performing a samba routine on Monday’s live taping of the Semi-Finals.
The Welsh singer was visibly pained after stumbling to the floor while performing a back bend, reports US Weekly.
The slip ended her performance as her partner Mark Ballas caught her towards the end of the song. Daily Mail reports Jenkins covered her face. She then tearfully apologized.
A video of the routine can be seen to the right.
Some fans have been commenting that the accident appears to be the fault of Ballas, who made contact with Jenkins’ left leg as he catapulted himself over her frame.
"We haven't had a bumpy run of that one. Out of all the ones we've done this season that's the one I've been saying, 'You'll get a perfect score for that,'" Ballas told People.
Jenkins tweeted last night, “Thank you for all your concerned tweets... I'm with the Doctor, he says it was a reflectorical spasm in my lower back.”
Today she tweeted, “Morning all... Thanks for your tweets of support & concern. The good news is that I'm feeling better, just a little sore #OnwardsAndUpwards.”
Despite the mishap, she and Ballas received 9s across the board from the judges. On a relatively flawless night from the other contestants, however, the pair earned a combine score of 56 out of 60 which put them in last place for the evening.
Will fans reward Jenkins’ perservance or punish the couple for the choreography mishap? The results show on ABC airs tonight at 9 p.m.
