No parole for Charles Manson: Sharon Tate's family says it is over

Charles Manson was denied parole yesterday for the 12th time, and chances are good that there won’t be a 13th.

Debra Tate, the sister of actress Sharon Tate was pleased to learn that Manson’s next parole hearing would be in 2027, which would make Manson 92 years old if he is still alive.

Tate told the parole panel she believed Manson did not attend the parole hearings because he did not want to hear any victim's impact statements. Tate has attended Manson's parole hearings for the past 15 years.

"I was very pleased that we will never hear from Charlie Manson again," Tate said, according to CNN. "For this one, it's over."

Manson, of course, had his own opinions. John Peck of the parole board read statements aloud that Manson had made to a prison psychologist at Corcoran State Prison in California.

According to the Associated Press, Manson said, “I'm special. I'm not like the average inmate. I have spent my life in prison. I have put five people in the grave. I am a very dangerous man.”

Peck said the panel agreed with that last statement.

Debra Tate, 59, was 17 when Manson’s followers were convicted of a two-day series of murders that included Sharon Tate.

Manson has been guilty of violating several rules since his last parole hearing in 2007, according to California Department of Corrections spokeswoman Terry Thornton.

Thornton told ABCNews.com that he has threatened an officer, and been caught in possession of a weapon and with contraband cell phones. He had made calls to California, New Jersey, Florida and British Columbia, and the calls were being investigated.

Manson was first issued the death sentence, but according to the Los Angeles Times, the California Supreme Court ruled in 1972 that the state's death penalty was unconstitutional and his sentence was changed to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 1977.

Charles Manson should not even be alive.
What he is responsible for is beyond horrible.
It is a shame that our tax dollars support him in jail and these stupid parole hearings.
He will never get out.
The sooner he dies, the better.
