Fox News contributor Sarah Palin has made her position known on the sexual misconduct accusations surrounding former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.

Palin, not known to be shy, told Greta Van Susteren during "On the Record" that Sandusky should hang from the highest tree, and she would bring the rope, according to the Huffington Post.

When Van Susteren asked her to clarify that this would happen if he were found guilty, Palin added, if Sandusky is found guilty, "he needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law."

NPR reports that the "fullest extent" of Pennsylvania law when adults are convicted of a felony for raping a child or children would be prison sentences that may add up to life.

The former Alaska governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate continued, "I think it's pathetic, it's horrible, it's atrocious what took place. If it is true that these children were victimized, then he and anybody who allowed what he did to go on should be the ones to suffer.”

Mail Online reported that the conversation began about Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who wants to remove Penn State from the chance of playing in any bowl games. Palin responded, “It's not the players' fault that they have a perverted former assistant coach.”
