After killing Osama bin Laden and three of his cohorts on what was May 2 in Abbottabad, Pakistan, Navy Seals grabbed every document, CD and DVD they could carry — including what is being described as a fairly extensive pornographic video collection.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, current and former U.S. officials told Reuters that the pornography recovered in bin Laden’s compound consists of modern, electronically recorded video. The Reuters story was carried Friday on the Huffington Post website.
The officials told Reuters they were not sure where the video collection was found in the compound or who viewed it.
Officials have stated the compound did not have Internet or other wired communications. However, a confiscated video released by the White House shows bin Laden watching pictures of himself on a TV screen, indicating that the house was equipped with video playback equipment.
Three other U.S. officials familiar with evidence gathered during investigations of other Islamic militants said the discovery of pornography is not uncommon, the Huffington Post reported.
