WHERE THEY NEED HELP: Defensive line
ANALYSIS: More so than any other position, the Jets need help on their defensive line. They do not have a second round pick, so they have to make this pick count. They need a pass rushing linebacker and/or a pass rushing end, for Rex Ryan’s blitz schemes and packages. They also need a nose tackle to clog the middle so they don’t have to roll the dice on Kris Jenkins for a third year only to see him go out with an injury. If Jenkins is healthy and returns on an incentive laiden contract, then good as he used to be one of the top nose tackles in the game. But the Jets cannot count on that right now. The Jets can probably live with Jonathan Thomas and Calvin pace at linebacker despite both being over 30. Inside or outside, the first pick is going to be a defensive lineman.
WHAT THE SHOULD DO: If the jets go for the outside rusher, than Muhammad Wilkerson of Temple, Cameron Heyward of Ohio State or Allen Bailey of Miami will be available and are the top options. If they go for the inside, then the top pick at nose tackle would be Phil Taylor, a 350 pound lineman who stops the run and frees up the linebackers to make more plays. Another options would be Corey Liuget of Illinois.
WHERE THEY ARE EXPECTED TO USE THE FIRST PICK: Jets go for the nose tackle, Take Phil Taylor of Baylor

Heyward---I highly doubt they will take a chance on him...
Bailey---not in the first round...no way.
Wilkerson and Liuget will be gone by then...
No Reed? No Ayers?
I think they will trade down anyway...
