One of the many media stories which were afoot with the New York Jets during this past season was the tale of Azteca reporter Ines Sainz. Sainz resurfaced on Media Day at the Super Bowl, and admitted that she plans to return to the team's locker room in 2011.
"Next season? Of course I will be there," she said.
Sainz joined thousands of other reporters working the sidelines on Super Bowl Media Day. According to the Vancouver Sun, she was wearing a sequined micro-mini dress and teetering on black stilettos. Sainz found herself on the other end of the microphone Tuesday, attracting nearly as much attention as the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
According to sfgate.com, Sainz appeared with Chad Ochocinco Johnson, who Sainz has been hanging out with for a day now.
This past September, USA Today reported the NFL conducted an investigation into what occurred when she visited the Jets to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez. In a letter sent afterward to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the "conduct of the Jets clearly should have been better," but he also wrote that Johnson and the team administration responded quickly to address concerns that Sainz was made to feel uncomfortable.
The NFL implemented a workplace sensitivity program after some Jets players made catcalls at Sainz, who maintains that she doesn't have any issues with the organization.
"For me, nothing happened. Because I didn't hear anything," Sainz said. "It was a huge surprise for me when the NFL security called me....I never want to cause any problems."
"I'm actually a sports reporter," she told the New York Daily News. "My legitimate job is to be in (front of) the camera and looking for the stories. Not pretend to be the story."
