They say Tom Brady turns up the intensity around playoff time - or is he just feeling the heat?
Chad Ochocinco had to ask some of his New England teammates if something was wrong with the Patriots quarterback who was reportedly "cranky."“They were like, ‘It’s that time of the year, you just have to understand,’’ he said to Yahoo Sports.
But Brady hasn’t won a playoff game since New England’s AFC championship in 2007 after winning his first 10. He has won three Super Bowls, but is 34, and may be running out of opportunities.
Brady had little to offer reporters in his weekly news conference about anything but the Denver Broncos. He told Boston.com, “I haven’t thought about last year or last week. I’m just thinking about what we need to do to win.’’
According to NFL.com, New England has lost two straight home playoff games after being undefeated at home during the regular season in each of the last two years. Brady’s record during the regular season is 69-12.
Tim Tebow said, “The three championships that he’s won, he’s played great and almost had the best season ever when they lost in the championship game.”
Ochocinco spent 10 years with the Cincinnati Bengals, and hasn’t seen a level of intensity like Brady’s. He said, according to Bleacher Report, “Everybody is pushing for perfection. I've never seen anything like it in my whole career. Tom is on you about the littlest things. He has me walking on eggshells and I haven't done that since I was a rookie.”
BostonHerald.com reported that Brady was officially taken off the Patriots’ injury report for Saturday night’s playoff game against the Denver Broncos. He had been fighting a left shoulder injury.
