Google's 'let it snow' is another search engine trick

Google has come up with another of its popular tricks for its search results. And if you watch the Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra YouTube videos shown along with it, you will find significant distraction for much of your day.

What you need to do is type “let it snow” into the Google search engine. According to tidbits.com, snowflakes will begin falling from the top of your screen. The window will start to fog up in a few seconds. You can clear up the fog by clearing it off with your cursor.

Google is known for its little games in its search field. At one time users could type in the word "Gravity" and watch all their copy fall to the bottom of the page. Physorg.com reports that if you type in the word “recursion,” Google will ask if you had meant to type the word "recursion." Honest mistake. And if you type in “askew” or “tilt,” your screen will go askew or tilt.

MLive.com reported that Google had a really popular trick not long ago with “do a barrel roll.” Users typed that in, and their computer screen did a basic somersault.

Also in the spirit of the holidays, users can type “Christmas” or “Hanukkah” into their Google search engine to find a row of Christmas tree lights or Star of David symbols displayed at the top of their screen.
