Developed by Triumph, an underwear manufacturing company in Japan, the “Super Cool Bra” has built-in ice packs. It also boasts a mini-fan and a mini-ladle to spoon cool water over the wearer, according to Digital Journal.
You can choose a bamboo or fish net theme.
IB Times reports the cooling gel pads can be placed in the freezer for an hour before wearing. Sound and fragrance are added by a wind chime and mint leaf that hang between the two cups.
According to BBC, the ice bra apparently grew out of the “Super Cool Biz” energy-saving campaign launched by the Japanese government following the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster. “Super Cool Biz” encourages office workers to wear clothes that will enable them to stay cool and cut down on air conditioning.
Mashable reports bra ingenuity is not limited to Japan. Last month two junior business students at the University of Washington launched the JoeyBra. Inspired by kangaroos, it has an underarm pouch that can be used to carry a smartphone, keys, money, or other essentials.
