You may want to make a note of this.

One of the last things you want to be doing in New Jersey is driving between 9 and 10 o'clock on a rainy Saturday night on Route I-76 as it stretches from the Atlantic City Expressway to the Walt Whitman Bridge in Camden County.

At any time of day, I-76 is the second most dangerous highway in the United Sates, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The high-balling and confusing roadway with 12-lanes in each direction is second in danger only to Route I-95 as it stretches through Florida.

The hour between 9 and 10 p.m. is the most dangerous time to be driving. Saturday is the most dangerous day of the week, and rain is the most dangerous weather condition for driving. June 10 is the most deadly day of the year.

The safest time to be on the road is between 4 and 5 o'clock on Christmas morning.

The Daily Beast examined the latest Traffic Safety Administration report and compiled the statistics.

The third, fourth and fifth most dangerous highways are I-4 in Florida and I-15 and I-10, both in California.

The 3.1 miles of I-76 in New Jersey opened to traffic on May 16, 1957, the same day the Walt Whitman Bridge opened. The roadway was widened from four to 12 lanes in 1960.
