Megan Plant charged in heroin overdose deaths

Last week, the Union County Homicide Task Force charged and arrested a 20-year-old Martinsville woman with the deaths of two people in Springfield.

Megan Plank of Somerset County is charged with two counts of 1st Degree Drug Induced Death and one count of 3rd Degree Distribution of Heroin in relation to the Nov. 12, 2009 overdose of Christopher Coppola and Sara Malaker in Springfield.

According to the investigation Coppola of Bridgewater and Malaker of Springfield purchased herion from Plank earlier in the day. The pair returned to Malaker's home in Springfield. Both were 20-years-old, said Romaknow.

The pair were found by Malaker's mother the following day. Both, according to the Medical Examiner died from acute heroin intoxication, said Romankow.

Judge Robert J. Mega signed warrants against Plank and set bail at 200,000.00.
