Not since Michael Jackson's Thriller video have the undead been so hip.
Zombies are everywhere — on TV, in books and on film. Recent disturbing news events have prompted some to declare that the Zombie Apocalypse is upon us.
So it makes sense that an entrepreneur named Mark Siwak is taking the zombie craze to the next level. Siwak wants to transform derelict areas of Detroit into a zombie theme park, according to TG Daily.
Siwak cites his choice of location as a "perfect opportunity" for theme park visitors to be chased by "zombies" — the many abandoned buildings and homes would offer lots of room to seek shelter, the report said.
Siwak is not alone in his enthusiasm. He told reporters he has received hundreds of resumes from folks who want to work at the tourist attraction.
Can't get enough zombies this summer? Fret not. Six Flags in New Jersey is holding its first annual Zombie Takeover on August 4 and the New Jersey Zombie Walk is scheduled for Oct. 6 in Asbury Park.
