Woman arrested for stopping traffic and flashing motorists on Garden State Parkway

New Jersey State Troopers arrested a Union County woman after she blocked traffic on the Garden State Parkway with her vehicle and proceeded to flash motorists.

Troopers say Arika Felder, 23, of Plainfield stopped her car near exit 109, mile marker 109.5 and parked the car horizontally across three northbound lanes, stepped out of her car and began exposing herself to other drivers. As officers approached the young woman, she ran and retreated back into her vehicle.

As the unidentified trooper approached Felder's car to stop her, she hit the accelerator, dragging the trooper 20 yards before crashing into a concrete barrier on the left shoulder of the Parkway at mile marker 111.5, the Courier Post reported.

Both the trooper and Felder were transported to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, the trooper was treated for minor injuries. Felder, who was not injured, was later involuntarily committed to psychiatric hospital, Anne Klein Forensic Center in Trenton.

Felder has been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, eluding and resisting arrest. Her bail was set at $15,000.
