RESTAURANT REVIEW

Something very unique is happening at Mausam Restaurant in Secaucus. It’s not just about bringing traditional Indian cuisine to America but taking the exotic recipes, herbs and spices of India and bringing them to American people of all national origins. While the food in authentic Indian cuisine; the menu, ambiance, wine list, cocktails and especially the service, reflect an American style.

Mausam is a great place for those who want to experience Indian cuisine for the first time or for those who want to increase their understanding and enjoyment of these flavorful dishes. Each menu item offers a clear description of the item for example; Shrimp Curry - marinated shrimp in a masala ginger, chili, onion and tomato paste. And if this is not enough the friendly servers at Mausam are eager to offer help in explaining the variety of dishes and making just the right choices. The menu is varied but not overwhelming. It includes a variety of chicken, lamb, goat and seafood choices as well as an entire page of vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Perhaps the best way to experience Indian cuisine for the first time is at lunch time. Mausam’s all-inclusive lunch buffet gives you a choice of four appetizers, soup, six salads, six entrees, two desserts and a choice of bread and rice. You can feel free to sample each dish and go back for your favorites. A good place for a business lunch -

happy hour at Mausam starts at lunchtime with great deals on all beers, wines and cocktails and the fun continues through the evening hours.

The full service Khel Bar at Mausam is something rarely found in a typical Indian restaurant. The Khel bar with its dark woods and modern décor looks more like something you would find in a fine European hotel, with high-back wooden bar seats and comfortable oversized leather seating in the lounge area. With American sports on the large screen TV and a good mix of Indian and American music playing throughout, this is a good spot for an after work get-together, before dinner drink or to gather with friends and fans to watch live sports events. The mix here is intercontinental with a good selection of Indian, American and international beers, and a full bar with a great selection of the finest ingredients for making the usual and the exotic cocktails and “mocktails”.

Mausam restaurant also offers a variety of rooms to host everything from a small business meeting to lavish parties of up to 175 people. Views of the Manhattan skyline are featured from large windows on each of the three floors of beautifully designed banquet and meeting space. The full use of their in-house WiFi, projection system, screens, and PA system are always included. The name Mausam means “seasons” and

like the changing seasons the staff at Mausam are committed to adapting their menus, service, and ambiance to suit your very specific event needs - even to the point of allowing your own choice of outside catering if you are not in the mood for their own spectacular Indian cuisine.

Mausam may truly be the only restaurant in America offering authentic Indian cuisine in a truly American style. http://www.mausamnj.com/
