During my days at the New York Post and Daily Racing Form, I earned the nickname “Tom The Bomb” due to my propensity for picking long shot winners at thoroughbred racetracks all across the country.

In the Preakness, my selection, Bodemeister, opened up a three-and-a-half length lead in mid-stretch before being caught at the wire. My top three picks, however, comprised the winning trifecta and the winning exacta box.
