Apple will sue anyone and everyone it sees as a threat. They have so much cash available that they can afford all the lawsuits, but they aren't exactly "winning" like they should be considering the hundreds of millions they are spending in legal battles.
Apple is clearly showing signs of weakness and desperation. If they believe their products are the best, why are they choosing to resort to fight rivals in court rather than to let the product sales speak for themselves?
If you ask me, I think even the most hardcore Apple loyalists have a bad taste in their mouth from Apple's constant patent-infringement lawsuits. Apple is showing that they will resort to any and all methods possible to remain at, in their eyes, the top. Android-powered devices, especially those made by Samsung and HTC, definitely have iOS beat on paper if you look at spec-by-spec. I believe people are finally opening their eyes and seeing that Android's open system is better-suited to their needs (and wants) than Apple's tightly-closed iOS platform.
It is for that reason that I've already preordered the Galaxy S3 after being an iPhone owner for almost 3 years (and Apple "fanboy" for the first 2 years of that).
