People are missing the real point with Lance Armstrong

I am surprised, and disappointed by how many opinions I read similar to this article. The main three complaints made are 1. IS Armstrong even guilty 2. Why is so much money spent?(usually said to be taxpayer money). and 3. What's the big deal, why so much effort over one guy. Here is the main point to me in all of this: Sports is LIFE to the whole planet. EVERYONE either watches, or takes part in sport. Our greatest heros are sportsment. There are so many life lessons learned through sports. Work ethic, sportsmanship, fairness, sense of accomplishment, teamwork, the list is endless. Sports are one of, if not, THE biggest influence on our development of youngsters character and integrity.(no Im not saying the ONLY one). Men and women become multi-millionaires through sports(taxpayers money by the way!). Kids who idolize their sports heroes copy them, take examples from them. So when someone like Armstrong who is similar to THE cheating KIng-Pin of sports, then money should not be a concern in exposing his fraud and lying. This guy not has not only cheated and lied for years, but he has created a systematic method to perpetuate the problem. He is a cancer himself to sport and is the poster-boy for all that is wrong with sport. This case is not about Lance Armstrong, this case is about trying to get sport back to what matters. HONEST competition between men and women following a set of rules. They all doped in cycling you say? Well catch as many as you can I say, but if you can catch the queen bee, do it!! oh, and is he guilty? Innocent until proven guilty ya ya, come on people. how many first hand accounts do you need to hear? This guy is WAY more guilty than O.J.

What a sad sad article for our children and for America. Supposedly the author thinks that taking steroids is just part of good ol' American baseball. He wants to see our children emulating the junkies in sports. If the pro's can do it, why not the college kids who aspire to be pro's? and the high school kids? why not little league kids? Why not give all our aspiring athletes growth hormones and EPO?

Lance Armstrong is charged not only with drugging himself up to cheat at sports, but also with trafficking in illegal drugs and giving those drugs (with some rather persuasive force) to young athletes. Just what we need in our high schools - more Lance Armstrong's, more druggy role models, more street dealers to preserve someone's deranged ideal of a steroid slugger.

The attack on WADA is also an attack on the United States and it's ideal of clean sports. It is an attack on the United States Olympic Committee and all our Olympic and professional athletes that want clean sports.

Lance Armstrong and the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LiveStrong) have defrauded American sports. They have also deceived cancer victims and cancer donors.

It seems unfathomable how low one is willing to stoop to defend these injustices.
