Although we can only guess, it is pretty clear that Mitt Romney has decided that the damage from the release of his taxes would be worse than the damage of withholding this information. With that said, I have heard speculation that Romney did not pay any Federal taxes during five of the last ten years. This was done by depreciating out losses from companies that Romney bankrupted while sending US jobs abroad. In other words, Romney's 1040's will reflect a multi million dollar income but a "0" tax income after depreciations. Should Romney be elected President, then many Americans, like myself, will quit paying Federal or state taxes for our businesses and instead take the same approach as our new President.
