10 Gun Control Measures Pass in NJ, Making Paranoid Gun Worshipers Even More Paranoid

SPECIAL COMMENTARY

For all the paranoid, gun-worshiping nut jobs, who think that sensible gun legislation means President Obama will personally be deploying Barbara Streisand and Rosie O' Donnell (or Joe Biden in a Rosie O'Donnell mask) to your underground bunkers--confiscating your guns and redistributing them to gay illegal immigrants-- will now become even more paranoid amid a series of new gun measures recently passed by the NJ Senate.

New Jersey, being a liberal-leaning state, already has some of the strictest gun measures in the country. But the steady string of massive gun massacres and the frightening loopholes with which guns are purchased have emboldened lawmakers to create more sensible laws. Well, the ones not bought and owned by the NRA.

It seems the state Senate voted today to alter the way New Jersey issues firearms permits by employing a system that would encode them onto driver’s licenses and allow for instant background checks.

"This truly is a national model. I expect other states will look at what we just did," said Senate President Stephen Sweeney (D-Gloucester), the bill’s sponsor. (NJ.com)

Naturally, gun enthusiasts opposed the bill and hope that Gov Christie, who is all about 2016 but still needs to win reelection in a blue state, will join the 16 other Republicans who voted against the bill and veto it.

"Do not be misled by claims that this bill benefits gun owners," wrote Scott Bach, executive director of the New Jersey Association of Rifle and Pistol Clubs. "This bill is poison with one or two drops of sugar added." (NJ.com)

Well, two drops of sugar is much better the a pool of blood.

Other measures include a mixture of bloated government bureaucracy and sensible reform, including the following: The creation of a state commission to study violence; providing a 180-day window for people to surrender illegal guns; requiring the New Jersey State Police to include gun trafficking crimes in its annual Uniform Crime Report; clarifying that the total number of gun permits issued in a municipality is public record; and requiring the state to submit certain mental health records to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

This article proves one thing: That the recently manufactured hysteria about school shootings was never about gun crime or the safety of our children. It was always about pushing a far-left agenda and exploiting a tragedy to do it. Emotion drives the left, regardless of common sense or the results of their legislation. It's only the intent of the law that matters.

Because to liberals, the individual citizen doesn't matter. Liberals think in terms of sweeping, national legislation. They couldn't care less if you as an individual are attacked, beaten, raped or robbed, as long as you didn't use a gun in self-defense. That would unravel their argument.

They have no answer for the random, everyday crime that occurs mostly in liberal strongholds. They mutter on about how violent crime is a societal disease, and that we are all somehow guilty. Naturally, they insist that the only solution is to make government bigger.

Of course, the only point is to take more money out of your paycheck to pay for more liberal programs designed to assist other Democrats. To grow their vision of a non-violent utopia, that is.

After all, chances are that you were attacked by a committed Democrat, and making criminals happy and comfortable at taxpayer expense will be a liberal lawmaker's first concern. Why, every politician knows you gotta adopt the values of your voter base. So liberal lawmakers will propose even more gun laws while hindering police and easing sentencing laws. That will guarantee votes.

You see, even liberals know that new gun laws will never make criminals lay down their arms. That's not the point. The only people whom gun laws really affect are the law-abiding citizens (read: conservatives). And they know that conservative, law-abiding citizens who wish for smaller government are the real danger to liberal intentions.

This is obviously the joke and comic section of this so called news rag. This guy is not a journalist, he's nothing more than a left wing political comedian and cartoonist.

"The site was launched in January 2009 by about 40 journalists, many of them veterans of 'The Star-Ledger in Newark'. It is modestly funded by advertising and made up primarily of contributing writers who work on a volunteer basis."

The Star Ledger is NJ's socialist left wing liberal rag newspaper so this is obviously just an offshoot of that leftist rag that writes articles that are totally biased and poorly edited. This article is just a typical socialist commentary of someone's personal agenda.

Just ignore this rambling loon commentary, these proposed laws are not going to get signed because it would ruin any attempt at Christie's run for the WH in 2016 since except for a few Northeast socialist states like NJ, the rest of the country is Pro Gun, Pro Carry and Pro 2A.

This blatantly phobic article is representative of why we don't want these carpetbaggers relocating to our fair state. They come down here for the serenity engendered in large part by the enhanced climate of freedoms and fair play (of which guns and gunning are a historical part), and then when any hint of boredom sets in, they immediately begin to try to change the culture to imitate that of the hell hole they've left - politically, physically and philosophically. The rabid leftist do-gooders' hypocrisy and supporting tyranny know no bounds.

Ask yourself why? The FBI already has the capacity for an INSTANT background check, known as NICS. But NJ is the only state that insists on using a paper system that requires forms/faxes etc be submitted to the state police - who THEN use the NICS system. Currently takes 17-20 days whereas every other state it takes 15 minuts.

But if we take away NJ purchase permits and replace them with a digital code on a drivers license that cannot be read without expensive technology then you have by default banned the purchase of weapons or ammunition by NJ residents while in other states.

Also, why the requirement to renew a permit every 4 years if we already are required to have a background check every time we buy a gun? Well, consider that it takes anywhere from 3 months to a year for police departments to process the paperwork (even though the law says they have to do it in 30 days). Now we have a situation where every four years you need to spend up to one year renewing your permit and now you are banned from buying a weapon basically 25% of the time.

This bill is a ban in disguise. Plain and simple. The author, the smug elitist that he is, knows this.

Never heard of "newjerseynewsroom.com" before, but I doubt I'd ever read it again. Just found out the author of this grammatically incorrect mess is a two-bit comedian who didn't even make it past the first round of auditions in "America's Got Talent". The fact that an organization claiming to be newsworthy hired some loser like this shows the extent of their interest in people actually taking them seriously.
Don't be fooled by future headlines, the whole intention here is to get people to click on the story so he can go back to his boss and show how much "interest" there is in his piece (piece). He's a nobody and so is this "news" organization.

It seems that the "anit-gun" group has some of the most extreme language and opinions that I have ever seen "said" openly in public. Besides this article here is another example http://twitchy.com/2013/06/01/take-em-out-concealed-carry-opponent-wants-law-abiding-gun-owners-shot/.
The longer this goes on it is very clear that the "anti-gun" gun control effort is a lot more about political control than any effort in terms of gun safety. The only groups that are doing anything in a positive way on either side of the debate is NRA and NSSF. Both of these are very active in making gun safety classes available to the public at reasonable prices. Some of their classes are actually free.
If the gun control group wanted to actually reduce the lives lost in the casses of multiple shooting, they should be making the case to repeal the "No Gun Zone" laws.

Since we know mass murders are not conservatives or even republicans, all these sensble gun control laws should only apply to democrats and their families.

Then I would be 100% in support of them.

There's no bias in the media at all... (sarcasm)

Seriously, this country is finished. All the liberals are doing their absolute best to make sure this country becomes weak and incapable of defending itself in the name of "tolerance" "diversity" and "safety" without ever actually achieving any of those things.

We're watching the fall of Rome happen all over again. Thanks, Liberals.
