NOW THAT’S FUNNY
A 7-year-old boy in Boston is going to be transferred to another school because he has been accused of sexual harassment. The boy, Mark Curran, was reportedly fighting off a bully who was choking him and trying to take his gloves while they were riding the school bus. Feeling helpless, Mark kicked the kid in the groin. The school said the incident will be treated as sexual harassment because it involves inappropriate touching.
In a related in story, a 9-year-old boy in Gastonia, NC, has been suspended for referring to a teacher at his school as “cute.” The little masher was overheard by a substitute teacher who reported him to the principal. The school system sent home a certified letter explaining that the boy’s actions were considered sexual harassment.
Well, that’s it. It’s clear to me that kids today are just out of control! It must be all that YouTube. Everywhere I go, I see little kids getting away with outrageous sexual harassment behavior.
For instance, last week I was on line at the CVS, and a little 6-year-old was standing with his grandmother. He smiled at me. I looked away. I couldn’t believe he was hitting on me like that. I felt violated.
The other day I was going into our local convenience store and a 10-year-old held the door for me. He was clearly making a move. I kicked him the right in the shins. What a pervert.
It seems like every week another adult somewhere is revealed to be a sexual harasser, and now it’s starting younger than ever. I see pre-schoolers rolling around on the playground and jungle gyms, grabbing each other and laughing. The adults aren’t even noticing it, as if it’s totally normal to act like that.
I walk my dog throughout the neighborhood, and the other day a 4-year-old came up to me and asked if he could pet my dog. I was shocked – his mother was right there! I called the police immediately, and I hope they followed through. I think we all know what he meant by “pet my dog”.

As for the Gastonia incident that teacher/school should be sued, they are ridiculous.
I suppose that if a woman was being choked by a rapist, and she kicked him in the groin and got away that her attacker could file a complaint...?!!
As for the "cutie" remark, I read a story about this yesterday, but I wonder about how that remark was delivered by this kid. From the story, apparently he was overheard talking to another kid that a substitute teacher was "cute". Still stupid to suspend a child for this.
My 12 year old kid was picked on by a bully this school year on the bus. Without getting into too much detail, my son wasn't even aware that he was being picked on - the bully was saying things behind his back and my son wasn't even aware, but the other kids said something to the principal, and the "bully" got punished.
There was no satisfaction from this incident as our son wasn't even aware that this was going on, but as his parents, we received notices at home that our son was a "victim" and the bully was punished. Really.
No satisfaction from this event - I'd rather my kid be given the opportunity to kick a bully in the nuts, just like when my husband & I were growing up. Kids then solved their own problems, but now kids can't get to do that - the adults take care of it, and our kids don't learn the coping skills to survive in the cold, cruel world once they leave the safety of the public schools.
Nanny state New Jersey! Thanks a lot!
