One might think that Atlantic City has it all – that is all to entice a person while enjoying a night on the town. But with the economy on the downturn, Atlantic City and its large casinos are in fact suffering and looking for way to bring in more revenue to keep the south Jersey town afloat. So the Trump Taj Mahal has come with a racy plan – the country’s first strip-club-in-a-casino to open in August.
Scores, a New York based franchise will open a $25 million entertainment complex in the Trump Taj Mahal, and will be 36,000 square feet of adult entertainment. The state Division of Gaming Enforcement ruled way back in December 2011 to allow the club inside the casino.
Once the project was approved, the division said dancers were only allowed to strip down to a G-string and pasties. However, the state Division of Gaming Enforcement has since agreed to allow "modified" lap dancing not involving touching in the new club, said Cathleen Kiernan, a spokeswoman for Scores Atlantic City.
"It is certain to become a distinct competitive advantage in the Atlantic City marketplace," said Bob Gans, a managing partner of Scores Atlantic City.
Slated to be located on the second floor of the casino, Scores will include eight distinct areas – including a main showcase area, a sports bar, a nightclub, a lounge, a cabaret and a male revue.
