Share on Facebook! If it seems like you’ve heard this news before, it’s because you have. The Powerball lottery jackpot is on the move again.

There was no grand prize winner of the Powerball lottery on August 28 for the sixth consecutive game, so the jackpot will rise even higher for the next drawing.  This marks the sixth time in 2013 that the Powerball jackpot has gone over $100 million.

Powerball’s web site reports that the grand prize for the drawing of Saturday, August 31 will now be an estimated $142 million, with a cash option value of $78.8 million. The winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday, August 28 were 6, 7, 9, 19, and 32. The Powerball was 13.

According to delawareonline.com, four tickets were able to match the first five numbers without having the Powerball to win $1 million. None of those tickets came from New Jersey.

A recent winning ticket that was from the state was just claimed by Mario Scarnici of South Brunswick. Lottery Post reported that Scarnici claimed the final share of the $448 million Powerball drawing of August 7. Scarnici, accepting the cash option value of his prize, will see about $62 million after the IRS gets their share.

It’s safe to say that Powerball has seen its share of big jackpot winners this year, several of them coming from New Jersey. According to powerball.com, Passaic’s Pedro Quezada claimed a $338.3 million grand prize in March, while Scarnici and the Ocean’s 16 group from Ocean County won two of three shares of the massive August 7 jackpot.

Meanwhile, Ocean County is continuing to have luck in the lotteries. The New Jersey Lottery web site reported that one winning ticket for the Jersey Cash 5 drawing of August 28 was purchased at a Shop-Rite in Brick.

And while there was no grand prize winner in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing, the New Jersey Lottery site reported that three players had third prize tickets worth $10,000. They were sold at Montesino Liquors in Paterson of Passaic County, Quick Stop & Go of Middlesex, Middlesex County, and Quick Chek of Hazlet in Monmouth County.
