No one matched all five numbers plus the Powerball on Wednesday night, so Saturday night’s jackpot drawing has risen to an estimated $105 million, with a cash option value of $65.7 million.
NJ.com reported that one player in New Jersey took the second prize of $200,000 for matching the first five numbers without the Powerball.
And from our Newsroom department of “we report, you decide,” Men’s Health magazine has released a list of what they have determined are the luckiest cities in the United States. They define luck as the most winners of Powerball, Mega Millions, and Publishers Clearing House, the most hole-in-ones; fewest people hit by lightning or killed from falling objects, and the least money lost on lottery tickets and race betting.

Somehow San Diego ended up at number one on their list. The cities were graded, and top New Jersey entry was Jersey City, coming in at No. 67 with a C- rating. No. 86 Newark fared worse than that with a D- grade.
Philly.com reported that a $1.1 million jackpot was won this past Sunday by a single ticket in the New Jersey Cash 5 drawing. The ticket was purchased at Quick Shop Mini Mart in East Brunswick.
