Melissa is fresh meat in the industry, or so she likes to think. Recently graduated from Georgian Court University with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and English, she began her career about a year and a half ago with The Courier, formerly a weekly newspaper based in Middletown. There, she covered just about everything — news, politics, government, finance, sports, human interests, dining & wine, and the occasional runaway dog. After that newspaper closed its doors (shocker), Melissa found her way to Princeton, where she currently works for Packet Publications as the (only) staff writer for The Messenger-Press. She also has gotten behind the lens during her writing days, and has photographed Gov. Jon Corzine and then-presidential candidate Barack Obama. Melissa's blog, SableMinded, is an outlet for her musings, as well as some random news bits and opinion, which lately has included a lot of food writing. Melissa has been accepted to Boston University's College of Communication to study for her master's in journalism, and she should be heading there next fall.
