Kim Granatell and Monica Chacon felt set up by Bravo

Based on reactions to this Sunday’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey” episode, you would think that Kim Granatell committed the social crime of the century when she brought Monica Chacon, the attorney representing Juicy Joe’s former business partner in a case against the Giudice’s, as her guest to Melissa Gorga's holiday bash. Cast members and viewers alike have accused Kim of everything from insensitivity to downright insanity, and of showing up with the intention to cause injury and to hurt people, all in the name of stirring up drama and getting attention.
According to Chacon, who agreed to speak exclusively to our friends at Celebritymagnet.com after watching last Sunday's episode, Granatell is not guilty.
“Kim G. did not invite me to Melissa’s party,” said Monica Chacon, who is outraged over having been set up for a public fallout. “I went as Kim’s guest after a producer of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' invited me to a charity event supposedly with the consent of the hostess, Melissa Gorga. I was also assured that Teresa would not be at the event since she and Melissa did not get along. Without getting into specifics which are irrelevant at this point, Bravo should be ashamed of themselves for setting someone up who did not sign up to be a part of the show or have a venue with which to defend myself. There are always three sides to every story. But as far as I knew, I was simply going as a guest to a charity event. It is unbelievable how everything unfolded.”
Granatell says that she is unable to comment about who actually invited Monica and still finds it hard to talk about that night. “It was one of the worst experiences of my life,” Kim said. “Everybody ganged up on me, it was like a Manzo mob just descended on me. I was really frightened. I think the worst part of all of it was that I have known the Manzo kids since they were little. Chris practically lived at my house growing up, and now he’s giving me pushing me out the door like I’m an uninvited stranger? Albie, who is a 25-year-old man now by the way, actually pushed me in the parking lot. Lauren was glaring at me, calling me a bully, and Ashley, whose dog I had just watched all summer long, gave me the finger. It was terrible. I went home and cried all night long I was so traumatized. The next day, my kids came into the room and said ‘Mom, please don’t do that show anymore.’ That’s when I decided to stop being played for a fool, or a villain, and take back control of my life. That’s what I’ve done, and thank God I did, and I have never looked back. ”
Monica Chacon is also still irate over the incident and at the producers of the show saying “I am not a reality TV personality, I’m a real person, with a real life, a real family and peers and a real career which could be negatively influenced by all this fictional nonsense. Bravo has turned a real life villain into a reality TV heroine and vice versa, which is mind blowing to say the least.”
Granatell says that she isn’t surprised that Caroline set her sites on her that evening. “Caroline has a long standing reputation in the community for being judgmental, controlling, and well, sometimes a little mean,” Granatell said. “And she didn’t have that much going on scene wise in the season at that point, so I’m not surprised she seized her chance at the spotlight when it came along. I am shocked, however, that somebody who considers herself a parenting expert is actually proud of the disrespectful way her children behaved toward me that night. If my kids had treated Caroline the way that her kids treated me, they would have been on the Manzo’s doorstep in the morning apologizing. And I’d ground them for the rest of their lives! In fact, my boys were also invited to Melissa’s party. Just imagine what would have happened if they had shown up, tried to defend their mom and a brawl had ensued? Four young lives could have been ruined forever in an instant, and all because of a stupid TV show.”

Melissa was nice to Teresa telling Monica to go home. However, Teresa is jealous of Melissa. She did copy her entire home off of her http://kellylogandesign.com/2011/08/02/homes-of-the-real-housewives-melissa-gorgas-french-chateau/
As far as Ms. Chacon, she probably should have declined if she was smart and wasn't looking to stir up trouble of her own. You have to be pretty naive if you think producers of a reality show, whose show ratings thrive on conflict and drama, are going to film you promising that the one person who would be most driven to that drama by your presence, isn't going to be there. Ms. Chacon isn't worth anything to the show other than her conflict with Teresa pretty much.
