Eva Longoria for Cory Booker on the Ground in N.J.

Share on TwitterCory Booker, the US Senate race front-runner is going to be bringing out one of his star power celebrity friends to boost his popularity among voters before tomorrow’s (Tuesday) primary.

"We are not taking anything for granted," said Newark Mayor Booker to the Wall Street Journal on Sunday. "We are just going to do everything we can to bring people out to the polls."

Actress Eva Longoria, who is best known for her role on the television show “Desperate Housewives,” is scheduled to campaign in the Garden State for Booker. According to the Booker campaign, Longoria will support Booker in Plainfield today (Monday) on the bus tour before heading to Newark for an election eve rally.

Surprisingly, Booker is no stranger to the celebrity lifestyle, in early August Oprah Winfrey held a fundraiser for the senate seat runner in Jersey City. Winfrey helped the Democratic hopeful New Jersey Senate raise cash while his opponents participated in an NAACP debate. At the fundraising event, donors paid between $1,000 and $2,600 a head.

The four Democrats (state Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver, Reps. Rush Holt and Frank Pallone, along with Booker) and the Republican (former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan is running against Franklin Township doctor Alieta Eck) are running in a special primary to fill the seat of Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died in June. The two primary winners will compete in a special general election on Oct. 16.

Vote for Rush Holt, the candidate who actually respects the US constitution. Sad to see Eva Longoria used as a tool for an empty suit like Booker.
